Toddlers visit to the local bakery:
This week the children in the toddler room have shown an interest in baked goods (it turns out they all love bread!) we decided to take a trip to the local bakery. Toddlers walked to the bakery and on the way we spoke about things in the environment that they could see to encourage speech and gain confidence in speaking to their peers about new experiences. This also helped the children to develop their understanding of the world. The children got to choose the bread they wanted to buy. Toddlers came back very excited to show the rest of their friends the bread they bought! For some children the visit to the bakery was a first time experience therefore this trip presented a unique learning opportunity for the children and it helped them to explore the wider community. To extend this further we will be using our kitchen in our role play area as a bakery and buying some baked goods from our role play bakery. Yum! #localcommunity #bakery #toddlersinthecommunity
Thank you to all the parents, guardians, grandparents, carers, children and staff who attended our “End of Summer” picnic! We all had such an amazing time as we said farewell to our pre-schoolers starting school in September 2019, celebrating summer with our long standing families and welcoming new families who have joined our Monkey Puzzle Cambridge family. Once again Parker’s Piece provided us with a lot of space to host everyone and have fun!
